  • I am a partner, a father (of two toddler twins) and a dog person.

    I was born in Hamburg, Germany, as the only son amongst four children, with both of my parents being architects. I got exposed to architecture and art from day one and the light grey Polaroid camera and a Minox 35 GL were always laying around somewhere in our house.

  • It was actually a friend of my sister that really got me into photography and design, when I was about 17 years old. He was a Graphic Designer and Photographer and I was completely hooked and moved to Berlin to study Graphic Design. But I got cold feet and landed studying Economics & Communication Sciences as I thought that was the safer choice and would increase my options for a job. I did not regret my decision. Because it forced me to keep both parts of my brain active: the visual/creative and the strategic one.

    Therefore my path into professional photography didn’t start in a photo studio – it began as a brand strategist, a business creative, a founder and a storyteller for corporates and institutions.
    For years, I worked with business owners and brand leaders, helping them shape concepts, stories, and customer experiences. That background influences my creative process and tay at the intersection of Strategy and Design

    How is that relevant you might ask. I suggest three points:

    • I understand the pressures and goals of business owners and entrepreneurs, because I’ve been in their shoes.

    • I know how strong visuals can elevate a brand, because I’ve helped build strategies around them.

    • And I capture images with the eye of a storyteller, not just a photographer.
